Hello! I'm Will Austin. I'm a senior full-stack web developer with a passion for turning ideas into reality. Need a website? Need an API for your data? Need direction on worthwhile technologies? Used security best practices to achieve and maintain PCI level 2 compliance with legacy code and database. Built a RESTful API with around 60 endpoints. Collaborated with frontend developers to consume the API. Set up automated deployment with Capistrano for the front/backend code. Trained and mentored several of my fellow developers.

Integrated the Facebook Social Graph into the web application "We're Related." This application served to connect users with their relatives who are also on Facebook. Built an email system to send monthly notifications to FamilyLink’s millions of users which, in turn, drove traffic to the site.

Worked to store large sets of student data (scholarship applications) for the use of the program's administrators. Skinned a few basic pages for the program’s website. Also helped program a new online system for storing the applications.
My Interests
My family is very important to me. I have been married for 5 years and have 3 little boys. I enjoy spending time with them at home or while on trips to Disneyland. My kids love to play the LEGO® video games with me as often as we can.
I am a tinkerer. I have a curiousity about how stuff works. I love rebuilding things to repair or improve them, and I consider myself a handyman.
